    190XT Voltage Reg Location

Howdy all, I wondered if someone could post a photo or a description of where the external voltage regulator is supposed to be mounted on a 190XT diesel. All the wiring was melted on this tractor when I started work on it so I've had to start from scratch and the regulator was just hanging out...

    What size battery?

According to JD Parts TY25876 is the Deere part number you should need for an X534. It should be a group 51 battery with 500CCA. Those specs came from JD Parts. Have a good day hope this helps.

Okay I appreciate the advice and I'll post more information and questions. Long as it's 12V and fits I see no downside. I've used car batteries as temp batteries in a couple projects and they've always been fine.

    John Deere 318 starter replacement

I agree here, although the ctm and tech manual say to remove it. You may be able to get away with just lifting it. But as you well know deere says "1. Remove Engine".

    Battery Box Repair

Forgive me for such a dumb question, this epoxy primer would literally be called "epoxy primer" correct? I have to make a run to TSC tomorrow for a 2" piece of pipe tomorrow and could look for it while I'm there. I think I still have some bondo leftover somewhere around here. Thank you.
