    TEA20 Governor Bumper spring

Ah that's interesting, I couldn't find it as a spare either which makes me think it's probably very rarely required. A job for the future maybe at rebuild time!

    TEA20 Governor Bumper spring

Yes it seems so, there don't seem to be any adverse effects to having it wound in further. I've just been reading the workshop manual online and it mentions starting with up to a turn after contact but more turns to stop surging if required, doesn't refer to a maximum so as you say maybe...

    TEA20 Governor Bumper spring

What are the symptoms of one of these breaking or losing it's spring? Reason I ask is my '48 has always run really nicely with no surging. Couple of weeks ago it started stumbling and spluttering whilst using a topper. Lots of surging and eventual stalling. It would barely run above idle...

    TE20 seat cushion

That's what I'm edging towards, I still have my old one on a stool in the workshop. Similar to you I have an old Singer foot powered shoe sewing machine that will push a needle through anything. May take a while but like my Fergie it's not about how fast you can do things!

    TE20 seat cushion

Thanks but the one I tried is like that, think most of them are designed for the MF35 with the flat seat and the higher back. They either need to be shaped around the nose or softer like a cushion to form around it.

    TE20 seat cushion

That's interesting, the 8N ones are shaped for the nose, just need to find one in the UK without a Ford logo on!

    TE20 seat cushion

Anybody come across a decent off the shelf cushion for a TE20, I've tried the couple that seem available and they are basically rubbish, not shaped in any way so they just sit up in the air on the front pommel and just slide about If nothing works then I'll happily make my own shaped one but I...

A20 sickle mower track rod end/ball joint

Restoring an A20 sickle/finger mower. I need a new track rod end for it but can't seem to source anything with the correct 3/4 UNF thread. I'm sure it must be a universal part as the PTO shaft UJ is the same as a Morris Minor in the UK! I'm assuming as it was the same as the Dearborn one it's...

    Matching Agriline TE20 Grey

Never thought of adding a hardener to enamel, didn't realise it could be done. Now a quick Google shows it to be a common thing especially with tractor enamel. You learn something new every day! Seems like nobody recognises the Dupont code in the UK or any of the other systems on that list...

    Matching Agriline TE20 Grey

I've just bought some Agriline TE20 grey paint, assumed it would be a solvent single pack but turns out it's enamel, I gave it a go as I needed to get some bits reassembled at the weekend and it's fine for brushing and on castings but it's soft and takes forever to dry and I'd rather use two...

Annoying leak in Zenith 24T carb

The leak has been fixed, the needle valve was sealing ok but as above the pin on the new part is slightly shorter which meant the fuel level was fractionally too high, just enough for it to constantly overflow into the main choke choke. I set up the carb on the bench and filled the hose with...

Annoying leak in Zenith 24T carb

Think the mystery may have been solved. I found the original needle valve amongst a pile of stuff the previous owner gave me. Comparing this to the new ones (I have two now) there is a significant difference in the length on the valve pin, a good 1mm at least. I suspect this is enough to...

Annoying leak in Zenith 24T carb

That's a good idea. It's definitely a leak though pretty fair sized puddle there overnight maybe a drip every 5 seconds or so. When you say check the clearance do you mean the needle in the valve? not sure what you mean by the crosshead? My valve looks like this?

Annoying leak in Zenith 24T carb

Charles you are a fountain of knowledge on all subjects! That's a good idea about the extra washer. I also spoke to Burlen here in the UK who make the genuine parts and they said there are Indian and Chinese copy parts floating about that don't seal perfectly. Mine looks pretty well made...

    730 Loader

Ah it was a file size thing, excuse cheesey pose insisted on by the Missus. This is the 730 I have (removed it now as a bit cumbersome for mowing!). So the 730 was after the Banana, what dates are we talking?
