    Ford 860 PTO shaft

    After closer inspection, it looks like the splines are cut a little different. The old shaft has square cut splines and the new shaft has splines that are bevel cut /- which is making the bottom of the valleys shallower than the old one. Chalk up another one for the land of the almost right.

    I'm trying to replace my worn PTO shaft with a new replacement shaft. I can get it inserted till about 1 inch left and then it stops.     What is the part number you were sold? It should be DL7140M for a one wire alternator.
