    Ferguson Tea20 starter solenoid?

The TE-20 had a contactor activated by a rod in the transmission. Does your shift pattern include "S" for start? We had trouble with ours and Dad bypassed it with a solenoid much like you show in your picture. As Texasmark has said you need to be careful if there is no neutral safety switch...

    Printer Question

Canon TS3120. It serves me well, but operation isn't always intuitive. An electrical orange wire nut accidentally dropped into the feed and jammed it up. I thought it would surely be damaged but after I got it out it resumed normal operation.

    Ford 8N 12V EI conversion

The Ferguson TE-20 had a similar though reversed setup on their Lucas starter Bendix. If you rotated it out it would click and not return. I found that out the hard way. I had to disassemble the Bendix and figure out how to put it back together just right. On a difficulty scale of 1 to 10...

    Ford 8N 12V EI conversion

IF the bar is centered and the bolts are tight it isn't likely to slide over far enough to short but I would wrap electrical tape around it or slide some heat shrink tape over it just to be safe.

    Radio

With radio headsets I think it would be difficult to hear the machinery if the radio was on. That sounds like a good thing but if something went wrong, I think it would be better to hear it as soon as possible. With just hearing protection you could still hear the machinery. When I was...

    Radio

In the newer digital car radios the volume that was last set is what you get when you turn it back on. That can lead to some surprises if you had a teen that last drove it and cranked the volume. You can't even turn it down before you start it as turning the knob doesn't do anything until it's...

    Fuel Tank Rust Removal

If it isn't leaking and you are willing to clean out the sediment bowl often for a while, take the extension pipe and filter going into the tank off and let the rust drain into the bowl. You might add an inline paper filter after the bowl just in case. If there are no chunks big enough to...

    Motor Oil...

5W-30 might work for the older models but the 2025 you want to be careful with. You need an oil to reduce engine deposits as it is likely direct injection (the F-150 might even be). Also, the twin turbo might need a different formulation. I would go with the recommended there. I'm a bit...

    RACOONS IN THE BARN

My experience with live traps is that if they can they will get the bait without going into the trap. You have to block the areas around the bait so they can't get their hands in and get it.

    Picking up square bales

My bad, the "hay-0-vator" was a conveyor to move bales. I guess I have forgotten the name of the machine that picked up bales. It was ground driven.

    Memories of Years Gone By.

We too, knew not to run like you said. Even if Dad had the switch in his hand and we knew what was coming, we didn't run.

Installing new 1020 fuel tank problems

For my Ferguson I went to an auto parts store. Mine was double flared so I matched it up with a section of double flared brake line but examine it carefully as the bubble flare is very common now. You could just cut the line and splice in a section using ferrule type unions. I believe they...

    T20 fergie,hard steering

As far as transmission/hydraulic oil the operator's manual for my TE-20 (similar to the TO-20) says 90 weight mineral oil. While there are other fluids that work you have to be careful as it is my understanding that some of the newer oils attack bronze pieces in the transmission/differential...

Installing new 1020 fuel tank problems

The replacement tank for my TE-20 had similar issues. The tank outlet was farther back so I added a piece of brake line and an inline filter (which I later removed). The tank was also a little taller and the hood came down on the gas cap, so I split the hood and put shims in between and...

    Picking up square bales

A lot of bales we hauled were round bales done by a Roto Baler. Small round bales. People complained about hauling and stacking them but I actually preferred them to the square bales. Once you had end racks on the wagon or trailer they were a cinch. Stacking in the barn took a bit more...
