12v cut out relay to 12v voltage regulator 1948 D

Thanks John T, I was hoping you would reply. The VR according to the manufacturer can be used as with a positive ground sytem so I am banking on that. I will polarize the generator. Should I do the same with the VR or by polarizing the genny will I not have to worry about it?

12v cut out relay to 12v voltage regulator 1948 D

The Delco Remy cutout relay on my 48 D shot craps and I cannot seem to find another locally so I bought a 12v saddle mount voltage regulator (BWD R197) from my auto parts store. Aside from it being big and ugly, I want to mount it on my generator where the cut out use to be. There are three...

    brake pinion washers

When I took my 1938 B brakes apart it too had a washer in the dust cover on the brake drum. My service manual does not show on there and it does not make sense to have one there. It should go underneath the pinion gear. Then check for end play (.025) or if you can slide another in between the...

    transporting a skeleton wheel B

Not really interested in opinions of steel wheel vs. rubber tires at the moment but thanks. There is a historical significance of showing steel wheeled tractors at a show and I hadn"t planned on taking this on a tractor cruise.

Has anybody done this before who can tell me what I am doing wrong? Read the shop manual and it said to take off the fan. Did that but cannot get it past the radiator cowling. So I took the waterpump off but cannot get it past the radiator and the fan which is now in the way. The book says...

    MF 85 water pump replacement

My 1960 MF 85 gas has a leaking water pump at he shaft and I have been searching the internet for a replacement part. The pump looks identical to the one on my MH 44 gas on the outside. I have the E242 Cont. eng in the MF 85. Steiner's shows a pump that replaces 1005011M92 but I think I need...

MF 85 PTO questions How the heck do you

Where can you find a filter for the hydraulic return that is up near the battery box. Unscrewed the cover of mine today and there was no filter. Any part numbers that I can cross reference to WIX or another brand would be great.
