    53 DC

Not to hijack the thread but I was wondering what types of tsats guys are using. I'm not sure if the DC is the same as the SCs in this regard. My SC is intended to use a tsat that fits inside the upper hose. Are these types even available anymore?

    Case SC wiring diagram

John, It just seems like there's always someone who comes out of the woodwork to argue this. Hasn't happened to me on this board though. But there's still time. Joe, I hope your wiring job goes good. Regards, Paul

    Case SC wiring diagram

J, Here is a diagram that I have for the SCs. These were negative ground from the factory. (no flames please, I have three Case references to this fact). BUT, what counts as far as which battery terminal is grounded, is the voltage regulator on your generator. If it is made for neg...

    '48 VAC generator

It sounds like you're on the right track. Instead of your resistor-equipped light switch controlling the Field terminal of your generator, it is now controlled by your new regulator. Your light switch is now connected between your lights and the L terminal on your regulator and is only used to...

Plugs for the SC CASE and the DC CASE

I use Autolite 295's in my SC and have had very good luck. John, what have you found that you like about the 437's?

    more questions with S

Ryan, About the carb for your S: If it is the Zenith 9667 (many/most are) be wary of the needle length in the kit that you buy. All kits that I have seen include a needle that is too long. With these needles you will not be able to adjust the float height correctly. After fighting this...

    SC carb rebuild

Thanks for the confirmation Allan. Hopefully, others will benefit from knowing this too.

    SC carb rebuild

Thanks for the responses. Yesterday I decided to go ahead and try putting it together with the modified needle. I modified it by cutting the mushroom head off with a small rotary disc and then rounding-over and polishing the pin end where it contacts the float arm. With this change, the...

    SC carb rebuild

Here are a couple photos about what I'm seeing: The first is of the three needles, original on left, replacement in center with mushroom head, and modified on the right. Has anyone else had to have done this too?? The second is of the float assembled. As you can see, the replacement...

    SC carb rebuild

I could try to adjust the float to the correct height but at best it's going to look like a pretzel. I'm really curious to see if anyone else has run into this situation with rebuilding a 9667. I have two of these carbs, that are apparently quite different in year, that have the same problem...

    SC carb rebuild

Am rebuilding the carb off my SC again; a Zenith 9667. I installed the needle and seat that came with the kit. The new needle is longer that the old one. With the new one installed, it makes the float ride much lower(farther away from the casting) so much so that it barely has any travel...

    More SC questions

What exactly are the symptoms when an SC is suffering from a burned through manifold? I've got a 49 that has been defying me for a long time. I have a good mag, good plugs, good compression, a good carb, and new head and manifold gaskets. but it runs unevenly and has barely any power. It...
