970 hydraulic system getting air locked

I pulled the tube and did both o-rings. Also did the hydraulic filters which I didn't suspect because I keep up on those but decided to do them anyways. It appears the tractor is now good to go. Takes about 5 seconds for the pressure gauge on the dash to activate. I'm am wondering about the...

970 hydraulic system getting air locked

oops typo there, I wrote 10 twice. I can't find #4 by looking or feeling down into that tube. I plan on doing #10, it's probably been there since 1971

970 hydraulic system getting air locked

#10 visibly appears fine, I assume #10 is associated with the same tube but I can't feel or see it. Not sure where exactly it's supposed to be but so far can't find anything. I use Lube King Case IH Hydraulic Fluid.

970 hydraulic system getting air locked

Pump is out, should there have been any oil in there? A few tablespoons came out when I took the lines off but that's about it aside from tiny bits of pooling. Which O rings should I be looking at? Just the external #10, or should I open it up to look at #4 and #20. If I take that cover off...

970 hydraulic system getting air locked

I'll check it out, I've got the service manual and it doesn't seem to bad to get to.

970 hydraulic system getting air locked

Power assist 970, every time it sits I have no hydraulic pressure and nothing works. To fix it I have to open the brake bleeders and get the air out. Any ideas where to start? No visible leaks except where the remote linkage attaches between the cab and fuel tank. Once I get it bled it operates...

Any reason not to run this slightly bigger fan pulley? (275)

Massey 275 with 248 perkins. Doing the waterpump, noticed there was a small chunk missing from my fan pulley. Thought maybe that helped lead to the pump bearing failure, maybe the weight imbalanced it? Jumped online with my part number, 737257M1, found a real nice OEM on ebay for $30. It...

Ford 3600 and the fasco1200 loader

Did this get answered? I have a 3600 with a loader. The controls sit on the "remote" plate between my legs but I don't have remotes. It's my understanding I can have loader controls this way or remotes but not both. Or am I completely missing the question? My 3600 has an old massey loader on it...

Is this a IH 150 spreader?

Most of everything I use is used stuff I buy and repair. I always buy the manual and go through all the grease points and make sure every spring, chain, etc... is within spec. Rotating it by hand the spiked bars spun but the paddle doesn't have a chain on it and the gear for it seems pretty...

Is this a IH 150 spreader?

Thanks, mainly trying to figure it out to look for parts availability and the correct user manual. Although it looks like all the models are pretty much identical, as far as the manual goes. Looking at the manuals on ebay it looks like they might list some size specifications, so that would...

Is this a IH 150 spreader?

Advertised as a McCormick. Did some internet searching and tried to match it up with pictures. Looks like it's a IH McCormick 150? Any other models I should look at to try and match it up?

275 any reason not to convert to a ignition switch with ACC?

Yes, fuel cable shutoff and no "on" position for the key, it just has a springed start position. Just going on fuzzy memory, I thought I read the diode prevents a parasitic drain or something? But yeah if I don't need it, I don't have a problem with skipping it.

275 any reason not to convert to a ignition switch with ACC?

Going over everything I need to redo everything per the wiring diagram. Any recommendations on what to use for the diode? It's still available through agco, although you might have to order a 25 pack. I tried googling 10 ohm diode but don't know enough about them to know if it's the correct one

275 any reason not to convert to a ignition switch with ACC?

After going out and messing with more I think I'll try going original instead. They've got the wiring going all sorts of different directions that don't match the diagram. I believe it's the pressure switch that's leaking so I'll replace that. And when I put twelve volts to the fuel gauge it...

275 any reason not to convert to a ignition switch with ACC?

The oil pressure gauge actually does work, what are you typically replacing when it leaks? Is it usually the gauge or a fitting? And yes diesel. The ammeter used to work but I haven't seen it move lately. The fuel and water temp gauges have never moved. I just measured the resistance at the...
