    The oil pressure is OK. I have to round up some tools to do those tests, but am certainly not going to start tearing it down until I do. Thanks.

    In the interest of sharing what I think I have learned, I thought I would let you know what happened with my 8N starting problem. Somebody suggested I put some oil in each plug hole, and I did that this morning. At first, this only got oil on the plugs and I stopped and did something else...

    I did test for vacuum at the carb, and while there was some, it seemed weaker than I think it should be. Also, the plugs seem dry even after cranking on it over a flooded carb. That makes me think it is not pulling in the fuel mix to the cylindars.
