    I appreciate that Randy, first I want to complete the diagnosis, I think you idea of dirt and grease has a lot of merit. This runs with a flat chain. Also, you better look on e-bay, $35 is a heck of a deal.

    Yes, according to the manual, there is an adjustment, when the planter is lifted the rock shaft is supposed to operate a clutch, stopping the seed flow, I don't understand where clutch is, In the gearbox??

    I am having trouble with a, "new to me" John Deere 290 planter. I am trying to plant sweet corn with it. The issue is, when I raise the planter bottoms at the end of the row (or during transport), the seed valve shafts continue to turn and deliver seed. Can anyone shed some light on this issue...
