    Massey 1155 Exhaust Manifold

Hope everyone is healthy!! I have a 1155 with a left hand manifold that is broke is several places. A guy says he can weld it but he's had it a while and no word so I don't know know if thats gonna work out or if it will last. I am learning that these manifolds are very hard to find.. I've...

Spray or till wheat stubble for weeds?

I don't know where you are located but around here it would be risky to spray 2-4d due to drift into other sensitive crops like cotton and soybeans. Alot of people spray gramoxone (paraquat) for that reason. Just something to think about.

    Ford 6600 Front Weight Capacity

Hey Guys, how much weight can the front axle, hubs, etc. handle on a 6600. I know the tires have a capacity but what about the tractor itself. I am wanting to mount a front tank for fertilizer application when planting. I was thinking a 100g tank so lets say 1200lbs or so full. Will only be...

    where to buy cornhead grease

I think you can buy it online at Shoup Parts. They ship fast...To be honest I think it pretty close to the same price as at my local JD dealer. This time of year the JD dealer has cases upon cases of it on the showroom floor.

    3 point herbicide sprayer

The only thing I like about a trailer sprayer (I've never had one) is that you can carry alot more water with alot less tractor. Other than that I think the 3pt has more advantages. I believe it runs down less crop and is more manuverable. You can adjust the spray height very easily on the fly...

    gravity wagons

I would check the tie rods, steering mechanism, etc real carefully and make sure you are aware of what it needs or doesn't need. It is a miserable day when you have a crappy pulling wagon that you can't drive over 10mph. The other thing I would do is check it over for cracks, fatigue. I found a...

Here is how I act at sales!!!

Some of these things I am reading about here have me confused. It's ok to teach "lessons" to people by profiting from their lack of "paying attention" at an auction because everything is "as-where is" or in other words "buyer beware" Ok got it.....Now....If a farmer goes to a landowner and...

    Cheap Diesel Transfer Pump

TSC has a cheap China made transfer pump/kit on sale for $99. That is around $250 cheaper than a FillRite..... Now...I know that you get what you pay for, and I like quility USA made stuff as much as the next guy but for only 500-750 gallons of fuel a year this one makes me think a little bit...

    dekalb seed corn sucks

You don"t have to go to OP corn to get non RR. Even Dekalb has a non RR number. Southern States has some non RR numbers as well. You should be able to get non RR hybrid seed for around $150 bag or less.

    Amine 2-4-d

I have no idea on the wait time for 2-4d burndown time as I am conventional tillage. My gut says with the rain it won't be a problem. But I think most people are gonna have a hard time answering your question because typically chemical rates are expressed in volume per acre. For example: 1pt of...

    Pre-emergent or Post?

Here Prowl is a decent product on grasses and small seeded broadleaves like pigweed and such. It is similar to Treflan but will wait longer on a rain or incorporation. There is a version called Prowl H2O that is more geared towards notill and is even better suited for no incorporation. I have...

    Roundup resistant weeds

I have fought them, they will turn a beautiful crop into goat hay.......lately I have been winning. With pigweeds the key is effective pre-emerge, quick crop canopy, and handling the little pigweeds that will escape very early (with something other than roundup-crop specific) The two inches...

    Perfecta II Field Cultivator Question

I second everything johnpop said. I keep looking for a "cheap" Perfecta or KMC (very similiar to Perfect but with dual baskets) but alas I have not found one yet cause I have not come off the money. Around here they are a second pass implement for seedbed prep.
