    huh. muffler has a 1.5" OD exhaust pipe, and the flapper caps this site offers are for 2.5" pipes? thats not much use. ok, i see $7 1.5" flappers on fleabay. close enough.

    and, I got a replacement clamp from the vendor, I'm trial fitting it on the new manifold before even putting the new exhaust pipe on, its a bit snug, I put maybe 5-10 ft-lbs on the nuts using a short handle ratchet, and SNAP. break *another* clamp. where it cracked, it was corroded halfway...

    3 of mine look to have brass nuts. the 4th (in the 3rd position from the front) appears to be a hex bolt and not a nut, ugh. I will hit it with aerokroil a few dozen times before I even think of taking them off. I've ordered new brass nuts, and I guess I'll deal with whatever the bolt is...

    oh, and since i have to take it off to do this, should I plan on some carb service, like cleaning, new gaskets ? unless, I dunno, is there some way I can attach a muffler to a manfold thats broken off right above the flange? maybe muffler tape and steel can wrap with clamps ?

    I replaced the whole distributor as the old one was very beat up and ancient and falling apart. I don't any sort of bench press to do a bushing install.
