NAA engine oil relief valve orientation??

I have the oil pump out of a NAA due low oil pressure and I am questioning if the relief valve was installed correctly or not. This is the gear style oil pump and when I removed the relief valve it was installed with the open bore towards the spring, meaning the relief valve spring went down...

    John Deere 4020 Powershift

I would bet your problem is worn or misadjusted linkage, as I have seen this a lot in my almost 50 years of working on these tractors. .When it acts up take your hand and hit sideways on the shift lever knob. For reverse smack it (lightly) to the left and for forward smack it to the right, if...

70D pony motor starving for fuel.

I have a customers 70D that came into my shop to get the pony motor running and after cleaning the points and the carb it runs pretty well IF the fuel tank is at least half full or more. Once it gets down to a 1/2 tank or so I can only keep it running by either blowing into the fuel tank with my...

Need help identifying 70D engine dipsticks, pony vs main engine

I have a customers 70D in the shop and I am trying to figure out if the engine dipsticks are in the correct location, as they each can be installed in either engine. The dipsticks are both within a 1/4" of an inch in overall length, but one just has a line with a "full" written above it and the...

90 Series case remote coupler locations??

I am working on a 2590 Case and when the tractor came in the lines running to the 6 remote couplers at the rear were a disaster of hoses running every which way, so I am replacing them with the correct steel line/hose assemblies. This tractor has 3 remote valves on it and I would like to know...

560 Auxiliary hydraulic valve levers won't move full st

I have a customers 560D in my shop that both auxiliary valve levers will not move fully at times. They may work fine for a little while and then they will only move just enough to get the loader to move very slowly. I have had the cover off of the back (rear) side of the valve with the shaft you...

1850 PTO drive hub, solid or spring dampened?

I am working on a friends 1850 diesel SN 179 154 428 and the PTO drive plate fell apart when we removed it. It was the spring dampened style, but it appears there my be a solid drive hub available and it kind of appears from the parts listing the solid may have been used as OEM on the later...

    7710PQ hyd overheating

For some reason a reply by rockcreek4630 ended up in a separate thread. Here is a copy and paste of his reply. "I believe you have two problems. 1 you have a cooling problem either the coolant isn't circulating or you have reduced hyd flow to the cooler. Next how does the range shift when...

    Re: 7710PQ hyd overheating

From the info I can located it looks like the clutch cooling valve problems only apply to newer tractor built after this one was built. I have checked the cooler relief valve and lube relief valve and neither spring was broken and the valve spools were free. I am thinking the next test...

    7710PQ hyd overheating

I agree about trying to cool the hydraulic oil with hot coolant, we discussed that here, but it apparently works when everything is right. The PQ transmission works fine. Right now we are test running it in the different PQ speeds to see if one speed creates more heat then the others.
