    John Deere 2010, my timing advance is rusted and spings are weak so it doesn't move freely. I am considering converting to electronic ignition, if I do does the timing advance still need to be fixed of does the electronic ignition bypass the timing advance?     Pistons for 641

    Rebuilding a 641 and the current pistons are 3.55 inch, way oversized no sleeves. Needs bored 10 or 20 thousands but are any replacement pistons/rings available for this size? I realize I could bore it for the oversized sleeves but would prefer no sleeves. Any options?

    Thanks all, changed cap, plugs, points and rotor. As bad top of rotor was I am suprised it ran at all.

    Ordered a tune up kit point cap ect. figure its due since I started it two years ago after sitting for a couple years and didn"t do anything but replace the battery and repace the sediment bowl the previous owner had taken off. thanks

    Battery went dead on my 550 and it sat for a couple months. Finally got around to it and put in battery - during that time carb float must have stuck and tank drained dry. Filled it up and it starts but runs rough and backfiring a lot. I can"t think of any reason the battery would cause this so...

    bought the 641 now it will be three weeks before I can play with it since I am traveling. Thanks for the inputs. It doesn't have the three point arms, any idea what model arms will work on it and best way to find some? mike
