    After new valve train set no improvemnent in function. I can get the tractor running by putting in STP or similar Mystery oil/gasoline or directly on the valves through spark plug holes when left in the evening in the garage. No chance to start up if this is not done. Using 10W-40 Mobile or...

    Thanks, but I have gone throhg this as well, some years I bought the new valve train set so I thought I could drive the tractor now instead of trying to start it.

    I use 10w-40 in all my old engines, Willys, Boat engines Albin flat (head 12 hp), Volvo 220 hp, BMW car, my wife's Fiat car. New oil once or twice a yaer. The 8N is the only one giving me a problem with sticking.

    Oil flow? Dunno, the pressure gauge shows what it should. Normal oil has been in use.

    I have had it in parts twice both time I had to use tools to get the valves free. Then engine fired up in a sec.

    Can I crank with 12v but keep my 6v ign system

    Reporting back: could not get the 6 v engine to fire after ATF traeatment for sticking valves. So I gave it a 12v treatment spinning for some 30 sek with the 6v system disconected. Must have given the valves some impact because the engine then fired with the 6v system normally connected one...
