    tracks

Majorman I see that most of those roadless models have bigger diameter front idlers and sprockets. Is there a reason for that. Most tracks seen in the States are closer to about 24-30 inches in diameter on them.

    641 ford

Ive got a 641.sn5775. It sat for a couple decades behind my in-laws house. I was trying to get it running and it would pop here and there but wouldnt start. I had oil pressure when cranking. I replaced the oils pressure gauge and it hasnt had an oil pressure reading since. I didnt think a lot of...

    One Arm Loader Brackets

I picked up a one arm loader this summer and got the wrong bracket with it. I have a 63 4 cylinder 4000, same as an 861 or 860. Went to mount it today, and it appears I have a bracket for a 3 1/2 box on the loader frame. I have a 5 1/2 box on my loader, and as you can see, the loader doesn't...

Advice Needed About Overseeding Rye Onto Oats

I finished my oats planting last week. While I usually use my Farmall H to pull the grain drill, it was giving rides in a pumpkin patch so I used my Farmall 300. Here in south central Texas oats makes wonderful winter grazing. I've been advised to overseed with 10 to 15 pounds per acre of...

    Wagner loader cylinder repack

I've repacked cylinders before but they always had a specific rebuild kit for them. I'm kinda winging it here on this one. Please point out of I am doing something wrong or... stupid. I got the big packing nut off pretty easy, the old packing put up a fight. I pulled a top ring, 6...

    David Brown 990

Hello. I needed to clean the nylon screen in the hydraulic valve assembly of my tractor, but I also took out the hold valve plug, and the little steel ball seems to have rolled down along the side of the valve assembly. I removed the control lever assembly housing since that was quick, and...

Ford 850 started yesterday - not today

ShowCrop, I took the cables back to the auto parts store where I bought them last year, and they crimped them at no charge. They're back on the tractor and it fired up first time. Thanks!

Ford 850 started yesterday - not today

SoundGuy, there was a problem with a cable. When I was jiggling wires and cables around, the red cable slipped completely out of the cable end that was still attached to the battery. I cleaned the exposed ends and the inside of the sleeve where it goes, and tried to clamp down on it with some...

Ford 850 started yesterday - not today

I tried that at different times (connecting the big posts together) and I don't get a click, spark, or anything. I'll examine the battery cables this morning to see if there's a problem there. Thanks.

Ford 850 started yesterday - not today

I posted weeks ago about two situations that happened together while using the 850. One, I drove into a branch that poked a hole in the radiator and the fan was blowing coolant back around the engine. Two, the engine sputtered and died before I could get back to the barn. I don't think this had...

    850 won't crank

It still has about half of the anti-freeze in it, so I hope that the engine is okay. It's a good ole tractor and I really hate that I hurt it at all.

    850 won't crank

I sure didn't know about the possibility that the 850 could have overheated even though the gage didn't show it. From the moment that I got the hole in the radiator to when the engine shut down was less than 15 minutes. I don't think the engine is locked up, but I do have a hole in the radiator...
