    Review of string trimmer reviews

I bought the newest STIHL battery homeowners model. The most frustrating pc of crap I have ever owned. Couldn't keep sting in it and the autoload feature never worked properly. I sold it at a loss on Craigs List. I now have a GreenWorks basic model, uses 80 volt battery, easy load works nice and...

    New alternator

I have one on My 8N, sometimes it takes a drive around the barnyard before it gets going, that said sometimes it has to be jumped between two of the connectors to get it going again, especially if it sits for some time. There are post on here about which two connectors to jump, (Dell, an oldtime...

    Rear tractor tires

I think the main consideration when buying tractor tires is who is going to put them on, especially if you want to load them, the Tire service outfits excell at it. My first call is to the local Tire service guy who can come out and get the job done, I have found them very competitive. If you...

What do you think of electric chain saws?

Another vote for th Echo 56 volt saw. You won't find a better battery saw. I have had it for about three years and have not used the gas saw since. It came with one battery and charger and I bought an aftermarket battery for it on Ebay cheap and it also works great. It is just a well engineered...

    How deep for post?

"Any wood post over 4x4 next to a road needs to be drilled perpendicular to the traffic flow so it will break off if a car runs off the road per federal law." At first I also thought he meant "Drilledl" to mean inserting a post into the ground. But I think the meaning of that is that you...

    Yard security

I use the Ring cameras, as far as I know they don't need a module. They work flawlessly and when they don't the customer service is excellent, they will sit on the phone with you to get connected if needed but normally they connect fairly easy. They have indoor which can be plugged in, The...

    Solar battery/maintainers

I have been considering them for a couple of tractors that sit all winter, its a second home location and I worry about fire since I am not there all the time, what are the fire risks especially with critters that can chew thru wires and such? I can plug them in or possibly go with solar if safer?

    New Handle for Old Welder

was that galvanized pipe or did you just get it that shiny? I keep reading it is dangerous to weld on Galvanized as it can have a harmful reaction. I'm a novice welder, your fabrication and welding is much better than mine.

Ford 9N has lost spark from a brand new distributor rebuild.

If I wanted to heat my 8N carburetor I would probably take some type of convection electric space heater and point the blower at the Carb. The Carb isn't that high off the ground, you could mount it on a stable short table or even a milk crate or old tire.

Ford 9N has lost spark from a brand new distributor rebuild.

There is a diagnostic procedure in this forum for finding the issue with a multi meter for a front mount, it's fairly straightforward, I remember five quick tests to identify different failure points. It has caught an issue for me several times, I think by "Bruce" or maybe JMOR, but should be...

Brother paid off his tractor. Somebody took his $100K check.

"Check washing" is very common these days. They can wash away everything but your signature and write their own check. There are special pens to make it harder to wash but the professionals can get around that. I will not mail a check to anyone and only hand carry them to trusted merchants...

    Tractor for Hilly Terrain

I have very hilly terrain and it can get downright scary, that said I have had my 8N up every hill I own but outfitted it with a ROPS. I am not recommending an 8N as you need a bigger tractor but you are considering older tractors without ROPS, do yourself a favor and plan to buy an aftermarket...
