    case 730 hydraulic suction screen

I could not locate the filter opening that you refered to and I'm thinking maybe yours is an earlier model. Mine is a 66 comfort king. It has a spin on filter up under the left side platform. Here's what I ended up doing: My 16 year old son used the tractor to load 30, 4x5 round...

    case 730 hydraulic suction screen

Ok, I will definitely look for the cover and see if I can get at the filter screen. Thanks.

    case 730 hydraulic suction screen

So Bob, are you telling me you accessed the screen without removing the whole rear housing for the pump and PTO? If I understand, it sounds like you just removed the PTO shaft itself and accessed the screen?

    case 730 hydraulic suction screen

Ok, thanks. It does seem a bit intimidating just looking at it but I'm certain the screen has never been checked or changed. The spin on filter has been because it looks to be a Wix brand. I will change it too. Also going to check the pto clutches. The former owner remarked that he had to...

    case 730 hydraulic suction screen

I guess I was hoping there was an easier way to access it. When taking that back unit off is there anything else that needs to be disconnected like pto control or any surprise items that may spring loose?

    case 730 hydraulic suction screen

Any of you have any experience with a hydraulic suction screen or pickup screen on the 30 series. I have a 66 ji case 730 with weak hydraulics and parts man told me there is a suction screen that could be plugged. I"ve seen a diagram and read a little on this forum but where is it and how do...

    JI Case 730

The thought of the pump being worn also crossed my mind. I am amazed at how well it all still works being 47 years old. I'm going to do a fluid and filter change first and see if it helps. The fluid looks a little cloudy. The manual calls for 17 gallons of TCH Fluid. Anybody have...

    JI Case 730

Thanks for your reply. So if your math is correct that would put me at about 1333 lbs. That is just slightly less than what I am attempting to lift. My question is do the physics change with the Hay King design? They are telling me it will indeed lift the larger bales but I would...

    JI Case 730

I have a 1966 JI Case 730. I have a three point scissor type hydraulic bale spear. It will not lift 1400lb 5x5.5 round bales but a couple feet off the ground. It will lift the smaller 4x5 bales 8 to 9 feet in the air. I have been told it is lifting too far back for the larger bales and that...

    Mahindra 6530

The 6530 is rated 65hp@2200rpm. I am not running it that high but maybe I need to and just go in a lower gear. I was in low range 3rd gear and seemed like a hard pull. The tractor definitely is not spinning out. Has weights front and rear and water in the tires. It lugs down but doesn't...

    Mahindra 6530

Have a 1966 Case 730 that I love. Bought a Mahindra 6530 a while back and I really like it too. The two tractors rate about the same hp. but the Case is waaay more tractor than the Mahindra. The Case will pull a 4 bottom in thick black soil no problem. The Mahindra not so easily. I want to...

    Case 730 Diesel

When I say blow off the top of the piston I mean the top of the piston would stay in the cylinder and detach while the skirt continued to go up and down with the connecting rod. This would only happen to one cylinder and the other three would keep the engine running roughly until it died or was...

    Case 730 Diesel

I just purchased my grandfathers 1966 Case 730 Diesel Comfort King from the gentleman that purchased it from my grandfather nearly 20 years ago. Tractor runs and seems like everything works just needs some TLC. The tractor has a history of blowing piston tops off. It did it to my grandfather...
