    fixing ford 8ns

Finally got it to break loose this morning. I got a 20 ton jack from harbor freight and kept heating it up with mapp gas. I was going to give it one more day and then take it to a machine shop that I'd done work for a few years ago. Boy when it went KAPOW!!!! Should be back in business in short...

    fixing ford 8ns

Hey Hobo, I am using a 12 ton jack to press this axle out and so far nothing has budged. Ill put pressure on it let it sit over night, heat it up tap on it. I put pressure on it until I was scared to keep pumping the handle. Is there something I'm not doing right here?

    fixing ford 8ns

It has occurred to that maybe I should try the same thing that I used to get the valves replaced. I had some frozen valves when I first started this project and all the penetrating oil etc put on them didn't seem to work, but somewhere on this forum some member wrote about the qualities of...

    fixing ford 8ns

Since the inside of my rear rims were covered with grease, oil and dirt I thought it best to change the seals on the axles of my early 8 n. I've read in my shop manual that I could pull the axle without too much trouble and I've finally got it pulled but it appears to be permanently attached to...

    Electrical diagram

I recently switched my early 8n over to a 12 volt system And I found the reason why it wouldnt run was the ammeter wasn't working so I installed a volt meter but I want to make sure everything is wired correctly but I can't seem to find a diagram for a front mount distributor with a 3 wire...

Hi JMOR, in August of 23 you posted a picture of an 8n hub and axle splines I'm replacing my seals before I put my tractor back together. Can I use a puller at that point to separate the hub from the axle? Thank you

    Fixing paint job

If someone is taking it to a show its going to have a clear coat on it and it will make it look like its almost wet. You need to befriend your local automotive paint store counterman. Also Sherwin Williams has a product called SherKem. Its a high g loss metal finishing enamel. Use it direct to...

Need some advise on electronic ignition

I hate to keep asking for advice but it seems that's all I do. Before I spend any money on electronic ignition I'd like to see some spark first. That was the original problem with this 1948 8n front mount distributor according to the previous owner. Worked great and then it didnt. I converted...
