    farmall 140 radiator with 404 engine

    If used a 404 engine in a C (i.e with no water pump) then the holes in the cylinder head gasket are too small to allow good circulation in a thermosiphon tractor. (i.e. head gaskets are differant in water pump versus non water pump tractors.

    Its worth a shot and you have been given good advise, how ever after all these years of fooling with stuck tractor engines I have only had 1 come loose on its own by soaking. Now it just seems alot easier to go ahead and pop the head and take a look.
