Awhile back I asked about an odd drain plug on my Super C. After getting it out cleaned up and a thorough inspection, someone has cut the head to make it a two sided drain plug(motor) . THey also cut it sideways and cut into the threads,no wonder the things drips oil. IH wants $29.00 for a new plug, shoot I will buy a tractor and scrape it before I spend that much for a plug :)

Most drain plugs are simple pipe plugs so take it to a hardware store and use it as a sample as to what you need and buy a pipe plug and be done with it.

Could be the one that is a 7/8 fine thread bolt size with a copper washer. Removed more than one that someone weld a 7/8 thread nut on a short piece of 7/8 sae threads and used that for a drain plug.

That's what I want, and I know what shipping cost, but $3.00 for the plug and $12.00 shipping is too much for me.

Well if it is that plug do you have a NAPA dealer near you?

Ask them if they can get a part number "NOE 7041016" I see that one as being a 7/8-18 thread and it looks like it come with the washer for $4.69. Online search shows it as being available in 2-3 days around me.
