It leaks about 1/2 gallon out then stops and doesn t leak anymore- Ricky vaught

1965 830 Case COM C/K Coolant leaking
Radiator would leak after filling it up last fall, had it worked on and found no leaks. put it on tractor with new thermostat with 1/16 hole drilled, put it all back together and filled radiator up to the top and everytime it would leak to a certain point and quit. Is this normal?- Ricky vaught
