Radiator would leak after filling it up last fall, had it worked on and found no leaks. put it on tractor with new thermostat with 1/16 hole drilled, put it all back together and filled radiator up to the top and everytime it would leak to a certain point and quit. Is this normal?

Got tired of mine always loosing the coolant to where I couldn't see it or check it's freeze point. I had the hood off once , and after filling I could see the coolant dribble out until the tractor warmed up. So I put the overflow hose through a drilled hole in a half gallon plastic jug 1/4 full and the hose reaching the bottom. I put the jug in front of the radiator. There will be those who will poo poo this but it's worked for 20 yrs for me.

TG, I had a problem 770 and I added a parts store aftermarket burp bottle and changed to a coolant recovery cap, a little more sophisticated than yours but yours is just as effective, If I had an everyday user I would add the coolant recovery system in a minute, you can check your coolant level visually if you mount it where it can be seen, I mounted the 770s right under the fuel filters where it can be seen getting on the tractor, solved all my problems with that customer.
