    Yes, the 282 is a fine engine, hopefully I didn't make it sound too bad. It is really good on fuel and has enough power to do what a 706 should do. Its just that people have had problems with head gaskets. I replaced mine 100+ hours ago (was leaking when I bought it) and have had no problems...

    I would buy it if it were the German Diesel (non glow plug), but would probably only give 1500-1800 if were the 282 (glow plug) since it will likely require head work as well.

    Yep, what DeltaRed said. Filter change, then overfill 5 gal of hytran. Thats a good price. Even with a $1000 set of tires, that's a cheap and useful machine. I think you may need to check the older posts about the correct grade of fuel to use so you don't have problems down the road.

    806 Hydraulics Quit - Need some help

    I recently had a hydraulic pause/noise after a filter change. I had reused the original oring which was a no-no. I took the filter back out, put the new oring on and it worked fine after that. Perhaps its worth your effort to check the oring.

    I"ve been thinking about getting a crawler to help clear several acres of thorn trees and to clean out some older ponds. I know it would be cheaper to hire it done, but I like to tinker. What"s a good little crawler to do such chores, TD9?

    I just changed my 706 hydraulic filter before the cold snap and it made a world of difference on how well the MCV pump is working. Cold days used to take 3-5 min of running before the MCV kicked in (even 5 gal overfull). Now it works on start up even in the cold weather. The screen was very...

    Pressure washer recommendation

    I know this is beating a dead horse but does anyone have a recommendation for a cheap to mid grade pressure washer. I plan on using it mainly to degrease my tractors after and good soaking with Simple Clean or Purple Power. Hot water would be great but probably not cost effective for my use...
