    Oil Brand

For envirmental reasons they have taken out the zinc in most oils. Engines with flat tappet valve lifters need the zinc to keep from wearing out the camshaft. Most newer engines have roller valve lifters. I think that Rotella, and some racing oils are the only ones that still have zinc in them...

830 Case o Matic What did this guy to do this tractor

That is amazing! What size wire do you use and how do you make the splice? How do you cut a groove in the head for the o ring?

    SC crank grinding

.025 is right on the limit to where you need to regrind the crank. I built an engine once with that amount of clearance on a car once and didn't have problems. A tractor with lower rpms should be all right. If you let it idle for more than a minute, bump up the idle a little bit. If you do...

Extreme Tractor Parts 9 inch crank

Just curious, what compression ratio are you running?

    CASE SC GOVERNOR

Something inside of the governer drive must have broken. I think you may have to take the housing off. Take off the distributor and that housing and see if you can see what the problem is. There will be someone else that knows more than me along to help.

    40 -50 hp tractors

The 70 John Deere is probably the most economical tractor on fuel made, but I heard that a lot of them had trouble with the flywheel comming loose.

    Backhoe Buckets for Deere 93

John Deere buckets and Ford buckets are different. I wish they would all make a standard bucket. If you get a really good deal on a bucket, you could weld on mounts to fit. I don't know about the Case. I have a 2' and a 3' bucket for my Ford. The 3' works perfect for filtrators. I would like to...

    CASE SC GOVERNOR

Can you take the distributer out and look in the hole and see the gear? Maybe it is bad and ruined the new gear on the distributer.

830CK Breather condensation (blow by tube) causes?

When fuel burns, one of the by products is water. Have you ever noticed water comming out of the tail pipe of a car on a cold day? A little bit of this water will get into the oil of any engine. Usually this water is evaporated out of the oil as steam before it turns into water. A little water...

    John Deere G, 1951

Thanks for the info on the compression ratio of the pistons, but I still would like 10 1/2 to one pistons. That's what I put in my 460 Ford engine and it works great. I just have to dial back the ignition till it stops pinging. Gets good fuel milage (for a 460) and it runs great on propane. I...

    Thanks Walt, I'll do that.

    John Deere G, 1951

Well I have lots of time to waste, and besides, it's good therapy! ha ha. See that Ford backhoe in the picture? I ported and polished the head on it. It has quite a bit more power than a stock Ford. Stock is 60 hp. I'm guessing it has 70 or 75 now. It will push almost as much dirt as my boss's...

    John Deere G, 1951

Where did you get your pistons? That's what I need. Do you know what they raised the compression ratio to?

    case sc

Thanks a lot C. Only the second time and we got it right already! That link was a big help. Apparently there was an sc model that came with the wide front axle. I wonder what year they were made and how many were made. The picture is not too clear but it looks like there are three bolts that...
