I am tearing it down for a re-build. when you turn the long shaft by hand it sounds pretty rough and grainy. I did take the shifteer off also and found no other bearings or springs laying around or looking as if they belong somewhere as well. Would anyone happen to have a pic as to where the...

    9n fuel tank fuel line

Not an expert but, yes there are rubber pads where the tank mounts to the hood.. as far as the fuel line I suppose you can use whatever you like. The metal line is mearly what was used as original equipment. I had a rubber hose with an in-line filter on my 2n. It did seem to run better after...

    8N Transmission drain

Oops, was removing the center drain plug on my 1950 8N, front mount dist., w/12V conversion. the plug came right off, the threads stayed in the tranny case. Any sugestions on removing the remanents of the drain plug without destroying the threads in the tranny casting? Thanks for the help.....

    2N

I use a 90w gear oil in my hydro/tranny works really good and less noise from the different components/gears. However I do live in Florida so I can get away w/using heavier oil. Had to put my two cents in. Happy New Year.

    white scum at oil fill

If no milky oil in the crank case, its probobly just condensation. I noticed on my cub I get a lot of condensation around the breather cap and really not sure why or how it happens. keep in eye on the crankcase oil and if it gets milky you may need a new head gasket, or check for a crack...

    cost to paint

I had a Farmall Cub sandblasted, and powder coated for $1200.00 and that thing looks friggin awesome. I had to tear it down, but they did the blasting and powder coat. That thing is so shinny and red and for the price, cant be beat.

    Painting for dummies

I bought one of those gravity feed paint spray kits from wal-mart about two years ago and as long as you keep it clean and lubed properly, it works awesome for the price. Painted a few cars, and a Farmall Cub, and it worked great, and didnt spend a fortune on a gun. Try it, if you dont like it...
