Oops, was removing the center drain plug on my 1950 8N, front mount dist., w/12V conversion. the plug came right off, the threads stayed in the tranny case. Any sugestions on removing the remanents of the drain plug without destroying the threads in the tranny casting? Thanks for the help.....

I would try using a dental/mechanic pick. I've a great luck over the years digging out bits of stripped threads with a right angle pick.

All the methods I know only work on side distributor 6 volt threads , he he .

You might wind up taking a hack saw blade and cutting straight up and down until you cut though the old threads and yes into some of the case . You might even have to do this 180 degrees away from the first cut . One cut should relive enough tension to work the broken threads out .

The threads are not what seals so a new gasket and plug will get you going .
