Battery Replacement for 2600 Diesel what works?
I have a group 65, which is an old Ford pickup truck size battery, on a 3000 and a 5610 and they start just as well as they did with the 4D size. Be advised I am in East Texas and have more problems with heat than winter cold. 4D batteries are too pricey and won't last as long as the 65 does. -

850 Copper shavings in oil pan
The last time I saw copper ( actually brass) in an oil pan was a 391 in a 2 ton ford truck and the brass bushings in the rods where the wrist pins ride were coming apart. -

8630 pto swap from 1000 to 540
Thank you, I have looked at it numerous times and figured I was missing something. -

I have both 1000 and 540 shafts for this tractor and have swapped them before. Has 540 shaft in now. PTO was leaking so put in new seal and O ring. Now I can't get the 540 shaft to go in far enough to put in snap ring, it likes just about the width of the ring to go in far enough. 1000 shaft... -

When I redone the heads on my G 1000 10 or 12 years ago, Welters sold me a set of valves with oversize stems and my machine shop reamed out the old guides to fit. Can't remember
I have owned 2 different balers (ford and Deutz-Fahr) and on both you could only shim the stationary knife. The plunger knife just bolted on and didn't require shimming.- rmg

Allis chalmers hd10
Even if it is 12 volts, you won't hurt anything hooking it up with 24, it will just turn over faster. Lots of people start 6 volt tractors with 12, I have done it for years.- rmg

Ford 532 baler questions
New Idea built the balers for Ford. Never had a 532 but had a 542, just made a little more heavy duty. Never had a problem with it and ran it for years. Made a nice bale. Ford 3000 front hyd pump driveshafts

Trans in komatsu is power shift. Had a little short driveshaft from original komatsu motor to trans.
