    Ford 4000 transmission

    I have a '69 3 cylinder 4000 with the 8 speed transmission. I have a problem getting it into reverse. It wants to go into 2 gears at once. It sometimes does it if the front end is downhill too much. I'm going to split it this winter. How much does that transmission weigh?

    Injector Question

    Think of the order here. The fuel hasn't reached the injector yet, so it's not the problem. Sounds like injector pump to me.

    '69 Ford 4000 3 Cyl. Diesel

    I have a hard time getting my '69 4000 (8 speed) into reverse. I think it's going into 2 gears at the same time. It may take 6-8 tries to get it into reverse. I guess I'll take it apart when I get it home again next winter. What should I look for to fix it?

    Ford 4000

    It has the 8 speed and independent PTO. It's a brit tractor with the parking brake, too. I have a small problem with it going into 2 gears when shifting into reverse, so I think something slid when it was nose down and is now in 2 gears.

    I have a 3 cylinder Ford 4000. I moved it back home from the coast yesterday. I haul it in a 20" gooseneck dump trailer with pretty short ramps, so they are really steep. It wouldn"t start when I tried to get off the trailer this morning so I though I would just coast it off and deal with it...
