    1935 A lost oil pressure

Last fall I had this tractor out plowing and everything worked great. Always had oil pressure on startup and it runs perfect. Last thanksgiving I started it and no oil pressure again. I have cleaned the relief valve, changed the oil and filter, pulled the oil pump cover and put grease in the...

Early '35 John deere A oil pressure

I am having the same problem on my '35 A. It has new oil pump gears from Detwiler's and when I started it like the third time after rebuild it didn't have oil pressure. I pulled the relief valve and it had some silicon in it from when I put new gaskets in the oil pump. I cleaned it out and the...

    CDL/hope I did that right.

I just called the state on Friday and asked them if checking "intrastate exempt" would be okay. She told me that would be fine I could keep my CDL. She also said just be sure not to drive a truck without a health card. I hope that works??

Video of my dad plowing with my '35 A

He's in second there. I pulled it in third for a few rounds and it pulled it easily, but it's a little fast for getting the plow in and out of the ground.

Video of my dad plowing with my '35 A

It's a John Deere 44 with 2-16's. In that sandy ground I think it would have pulled 3-14's.

I think it runs pretty good for an amateur restoration! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4O1Q6fdLyI

    B manifold replacement

I think on those you want the correct John Deere studs. They have a fatter thread than a standard stud or bolt. Others on here would know more about this than I do but I think there was another thread on this a while back. On my unstyled A that I just restored I found some used studs and used a...

    My 1935 A

Thanks guys for all the replies. Had it out pulling a plow yesterday for a while trying to get it broken in. It pulls really well and runs great! I had it bored out .045 over, and found used but very good condition John Deere oversize pistons for it. Now if I can just get the needle valve to...

Are cracked blocks for unstyled A's worth anything?

I have two blocks for unstyled A's that are cracked. One is cracked in the bores at the top of the cylinders. This one would need to be bored at least .045 over if you could get the cracks repaired. The other one the bottom of the block is cracked all the way around, probably had water left in...

    1935 A lost oil pressure

I got it fixed this weekend. When I put the oil pump together I used a thin layer (well, I thought it was thin anyway) of Permatex on each side of the gaskets in the oil pump to help keep it from leaking. I pulled out the relief valve and it had a couple chunks if silicon stuck to it. Cleaned it...
