    2030 electrical problem

Thanks. I do have a correction. I found a picture of the serial number plate and it was built in Dubuque. My 2940 was built in Germany. I guess a should have looked.

    2030 electrical problem

We have two farms. One in Ohio and the other is 400 miles away in Virginia. We are in Ohio and won’t be at the other place for a few weeks.

    2030 electrical problem

Thanks. I am trying to find a single lead alternator to just bypass everything. It may not solve my problem but it may be a work around.

    2030 electrical problem

This is a Mannheim tractor. I should have mentioned it. The tractor is at our other farm. It will be several weeks before we go back. I will take pictures and repost. The original alternator was not returned to me.

    2030 electrical problem

My Deere 2030 stopped. It is definitely electrical. New starter didn’t work. I suspect it is the alternator. A “mechanic “ was replacing a clutch and noticed a voltage drop coming from the alternator. He installed a new 3 lead alternator and ran it to a new switch on the dash. It was fuse...

    Compression tester

Thanks. I don’t have that ability to modify the tester. Any suggestions?

    Thanks. I will try that

    Compression tester

I think a 65 diesel is a 3 cylinder. The 172 is a 4 cylinder. Not sure it’s the same injector ports. The 172 tester is much bigger than the later models.

    Compression tester

I have tried the generic testers. The one for the ford is larger. I actually bought a set that was supposed to fit all diesels and they were the wrong size.

    Compression tester

Does anyone know where I can buy a compression tester for a Ford 172ci diesel engine. The last time I needed one, I had to borrow one from a dealer.

    International 886 air conditioning valve

Thanks for the suggestion. I got brave and after spraying some valve with pb blaster, I put a vise grip on the shaft and it loosened up.

    International 886 air conditioning valve

Thanks. The port is covered and I am trying to turn the valve clockwise. Over the years, the valve stem end has rounded a bit and I can’t get a wrench on it I have tried a vise grip and applied some pressure, but no luck. I don’t want to break the valve stem unless I can get a replacement.

    International 886 air conditioning valve

I need to recharge my air conditoning. I have the original set up with a new compressor. I know that I need to uncap a valve and turn the valve stem a bit in order to add refrigerant. I can't unstick the valve. I don't want to break it and not sure what to do. I have unscrewed the nut that holds...

    Ford 4630 shuttle shift

Thanks. I used the original bolt #9. I am guessing that #1 is not moving enough to turn the lever going into the transmission cover. I didn’t disturb the adjustment to #6.

    Ford 4630 shuttle shift

I had to remove the shuttle shifter and connecting rod from the 4630 to remove the cowling. When I put it back together, the shifter lever on the transmission lid moves slightly, but the transmission won’t go into gear. I suspect the connection at the bottom of the rod is not correct. Any...
