    Mounted corn pickers

In the 50's Dad and I would mount a picker on his Farmall H. Took a while and I was always glad when it was done. A couple years ago a neighbor saw a picture of Dad on the picker and asked if he still had both hands. Guys would reach behind them to pull out a stalk or an ear of corn without...

    Be it ever so humble....

Things could get rough in bad weather. At least they appear to be smiling, not grim like you see in a lot of old pictures.

Be it ever so humble for kcm

That is great, especially since it is still being used.

Funny people born in the 40s

As someone in that age group, I agree. Always glad I was born then, but man, the time has sure flown by. I appreciate modern conveniences, but would not trade the memories for anything.

    Bonus rust picture

    Not telling anyone about this

The same thing happened to my Dad's H back in the 60s. He also brazed it together and we used it for several years, just not on the loader. When I saw it happen I thought it was the end of my favorite tractor.

    Changing an alternator below zero

I hear ya. Years ago my dad helped a neighbor overhaul a car in the driveway of a crib when it was about zero out. My job back then was to wash the parts in gasoline. That was over 60 years ago and I still don't like to wash parts.

    Must be Monday!

Knew a guy who went hunting and fell asleep sitting against a tree. He woke up when a deer licked his face.

    Bonus funny---or not!

Yes indeed. One night my wife left the door down on the dishwasher and i tripped over it and went face down on the kitchen floor. Another time I was walking through the bathroom, stumbled in the dark, and almost face planted in the garden tub. Got an LED night light after that and life is good.

Best tractors of the 30s to 50s

Larry, I really enjoyed the Farmall video. I grew up on an M and H and still have an H. However, I may have a different opinion to their quote of "the Farmalls are so comfortable that after a long day you'll be fresh as a daisy." But I'm sure it would beat working with horses as my grandfather...

    Black Combines

Saw 2 of them parked in a field about 2 miles away. Am anxious to see them field tested.

    OT: HE

I love that song. For months I have requested it at our church but the music director always had something else planned. Finally, 2 weeks ago, a guy in the choir sang it and was a big hit. Never gets old, and Sincerely is a great song too.

    Anybody Watching

Right on Kruser. 2 great road wins to finish it off and a Central Illinois player came through for the Cubs. Cleveland has a great team that came back to tie the game but the Cubs bounced back.
