    I did check power to the solenoid, which was ok, so i assume the solenoid or starter is the issue.

    1500 start problem

    I have a real hard time in cold weather starting my 1500. I use a Magnetic Block heater and the starter was replaced last year. Now it just clicks with no movement. If I tap the Starter I get a slight movement on the fan. I just replaced the battery with the same results. Any thoughts?

    Finish mower blade removal

    I agree with Norm. A pipe that fits around the wrench handle will help get better leverage and may get your hands out from under the carriage. Counter clockwise i would bet.

    Lift arm spread

    This is a 1500 Yanmar. I did more research and found that the ROPS has small tabs at the bottom side of the unit that the ball joint of the lift arm is hitting when i try to spread the arms. I had to cut off a small piece of these tabs to allow the ball joint to swing past the tab. Small detail...

    I bought a Rops, it was tight to install, but I am confident in it and would not want to 2nd guess my safety with a unit that may work.

    I installed my own Hoye Rops, which is great, but in doing so i dropped my lift arm and stabilizer. Now that I put it back it will not spread to accept my carry frame as it did before. any thoughts?
