    1855 Clunking in Transmission

John, with the trans. in neutral, moving the hydraul, from under, direct and over...does not change the speed of the knock/clunk. Maintains 2 to 3 secs. between knocks. Any ideas?

    1855 Clunking in Transmission

Mine shifts like it is supposed to after I put it back together. Just has the clunk or knock. Did yours shift okay with the broke rail?? I can't figure out...what would be turning that slow in the tranny to make this noise. I timed it....2 secs. between knocks. Seems to be quieter, when the...

    1855 Clunking in Transmission

My 1855 got stuck in 2 gears at once today. Tractor wouldn't move...let the clutch out it would choke down. After pulling gearshift and getting everything lined back up, I now have a clunk in the transmission. Doesn't matter if tractor is moving or sitting still. If the clutch is out and trans...

    2150 restoration progress

Nice masking job, on the rims. I just painted my 1755 back in the winter. I used Dawn dish soap on the tires....no masking....wipe on a thick layer. After the paint dried...took water hose rinsed off soap and overspray. First time that I had ever done it that way....I'll never mask another tire.

That's just it....I don't have the money to throw at it, if I don't have to. Like you, I also have a 1755, that I used to work the snot out of it. It wasn't updated to the new rod bolts and wrist pin bushings until last fall when I rebuilt it for the first time. Until a few years ago I hadn't...

    1855 Steering

Sorry I missed your call on Friday, John. Play is not excessive....about the same as my 1755's and 1850's. Not sure whether the steering motor is early or late. Tractor was built late 1974, not sure if that tells you anything or not.

    1855 Steering

Okay, so the steering on this 1855 I bought is screwy. I knew it steered funny when I brought it home, but it had a bend tie rod and a tie rod that was wore out. Anyhow....steering to the right...you turn the steering wheel...more than the wheels move. Steering to the left.....you turn the...
