    the tractor did not start using the battery and key. so to get it running I used a battery pack and jumped it to the starter. it's running now so it has become a mute point I guess.

    I was jumping from a 12v rechargeable battery pack directly to the starter. it may be the ignition switch as the last time I started it I "jiggled" the switch a bit and it started from the in place tractor battery.

    I thought someone mentioned here before that the home depot ND oil was only available in qt containers. if that is so the oil would cost a small fortune.

    used the old one after my SIL replaced the blown oscillator with another from another old style pump. found a 2000psi relief valve on the net and we were good to go. I want to run the tractor some more to make sure all is ok then I will try to return that new pump I bought. all I did was to take...

    is there a correct procedure ???

    how do you guys clean the magnetic drain plugs from a ferguson tractor? I run them under hot water and use a eating fork to clean out between the magnets then blow off with air gun.
