    Round Baler Twine Wrap Technique

I have a JD 510 Round baler and it is all manual. After I get to the point I want to tie the bale I stop forward motion and start the swing of the hydraulic arm. I get it to the farthest position count to 6 and move it a ways and count to 6 again and repeat until I go all the way across. I...

    What Round baler to buy

Caterpillar Guy, The more I thought of this after I asked the question the more I thought I would be better off just putting up a building. I would not need anything huge and it can sever more than one purpose. The bales I have in the barn are so nice and no waste so I think that is the route...

    What Round baler to buy

Group, I have a small farm and I have an old JD 510 round baler but I am looking for one with net wrap. Being in the north ( Western PA) and snow the twine baler just wastes too much hay having to let them sit outside. I do have a neighbor that will wrap them in plastic but the 510 makes such...

    Plasma Cutter???

Double07, That is exactly why I want a plasma cutter. I struggle with anything other than strait cuts when I am trying to fabricate a part for a piece of farm equipment. I know a lot of the responses are for Thermal Dynamics and Hypertherm but I am not sure I can justify 2-3000 or more for...

    Plasma Cutter???

Group, I am looking to get a Plasma cutter and I was wondering what brand you bought and your experience with it. I have looked at Lotos, Primeweld, Yeswelder, Bestarc, Cuwiny. I want to keep the price under 1000.00 as not to break the bank and I will only use it occasionally on the farm. I...

    Removing Rims

I have unfrozen stuck bolts many times with a torch and a candle. Use the torch to heat up the area around the bolt and put a candle near the threads. The wax will get sucked into the threads. Let it cool a bit and the bolt should come right out.

    JD 4020 Rear Fenders

So my 1968 4020 has some bad looking rear fenders. The Right side has been drilled, braised, dented & rust etc. Left is not so bad. I think I could fix both with my mig but the right one is going to take hours of welding, grinding etc. Is it worth my time to fix the original or is there...

    4020 side emblems

I had a couple broke off of my 4020 and I used JB weld on them. Make sure the surfaces are clean and I roughed them up with some really coarse sandpaper so that the JB weld had something to bite. I have had them on for 6 months and so far so good.
