Root grapple

I'm interested in getting a root grapple for my Bobcat T630 skid steer. I have learned there are lots of brands and styles out there and after looking at several, I end up being uncertain which brand might be
the best. I have found myself clearing brush along with limbs and entire trees that have fallen in pasture ground. I am leaning toward a 72 wide unit with two sections on the upper that do the grabbing. I
want one that is well built and can handle some abuse, but not so heavy that it takes too much lifting capacity away from the machine. The brochure says I can lift 2200 lbs total. Of course the heavier duty
you buy, the more it costs and that too is a factor. I am interested in any input from those who already own one of these.

I have a friend that has a Titan brand for use with her LS tractor. Its a 5 foot 2 lid model and has been a good one. I've used it a good bit clearing brush and moving cut down pine trees with no damage to it. Your skid steer may be stronger than her tractor though.

We don't have a grapple though the ones I see are the double ones with a cylinder for each one and I see that most of the time they don't hold well due to being bent/sprung so one closes well and the other does not so well. Also when closing the one with the least resistance closes first leaving the other to do all the work. After bent/sprung they then tend to be such that if you open them up completely they lock beyond center and have to be worked and pushed to get them back from over center of the cylinder to close again. I would want a single large grapple with some sort of a flow control that would keep the pressure and flow even so it closed evenly hoping to prevent the bending twisting that will eventually come from use and the abuse that will come in the end.

This is the one I have with 2 cylinders dual clamps I used one with a single clamp before I got this one and did not like it. I would not take a share in a gold mine for it. 5ft 485lbs I5ft is a graces plenty.

Like anything you can tear it up. What gets folks is picking up two long of a log with it heavily weighted on one end are forcing stuff between trees.

I bought this from Titan. 6 ft. Almost to heavy for this tractor.

Thanks to all for the input. I was talking to a neighbor yesterday and he has a Titan that he suggested I borrow to see how I like it. Again, thanks, all the input is helpful.....I'm still on the hunt.
