John Deere 435 Power Steering Pump

In need of a power steering pump for a 435D tractor. The one that is on it is a pump built by Webster Electric Pump, Racine Wisconsin, USA, is a model 2HC59-R. I don't think this is the correct pump and can't verify via the parts book. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Ellis

    super a blown hydraulic gasket

You are right! Exactly. I had the gasket end for end. Big hole where the little hole should have been...I didn't see the hole size difference... Thank you for the quick reply. One more question, I have some fiber type gasket material Felpro Karropak it says on the back. If I cut...

    super a blown hydraulic gasket

I recently rebuild the hydraulic pump on my Super A (with the help of this forum). Problem was the pump shaft was worn allowing hydraulic fluid (ISO 32) to leak into the engine oil. I did check to make sure the pressure release ball and spring looked ok...they seemed to be fine. After...

    super a hydraulic pump rebuild

Thanks for the reply Jim I took it apart again and just spent more time looking at how it goes together and what parts fit where to allow it to turn freely. Then I realized my mistake. I misread the instructions, mixing up the bearings. Now it's back together turning easily by hand...

    super a hydraulic pump rebuild

I'm in the process of rebuilding the hydraulic pump on our super a. I was able to ID the pump as pesco, got the rebuild kit from Steiner. Got the speedi-sleeve on the shaft since it had a wear groove on it, that I'm thinking was causing the hydraulic fluid to leak into the crankcase. I plan...

super a still leaking coolent into the oil

I took that break you all suggested. Now I'm back. It took the rocker arm shaft to my buddy at the local garage. He had to heat it up a good bit to finally free up the stuck tappet adjusting screw. It was pretty frozen, threads were ok. Put it back on the tractor, checked the head...

Yes, I checked with one of those point and shoot thermometers. The inlet on the radiator only gets to 145 or so....I'll try the newspaper idea when I'm plowing snow....to cook off some of the condensation that develops Thanks Pete

Hi WellWorn...no clearance at all. I can't even get a .oo3 feeler gauge in there. And that adjusting screw it immobile. The local garage I use said he'd help me get it unstuck. So I'll take it down to him monday. He teaches me a lot like you all do. Maybe with the new rings, new...

super a still leaking coolent into the oil

I suspect I (I really mean we) found the problem. I hope. I did the leak down test in all cylinders..careful to be at TDC on each. About 20 to 30% leak on all, all through the crankcase breather tube. There was no bubbling in the radiator for any cylinder. Air pressure was about 100...

Here is how I've decided there is a leak...I so could be wrong about this but.. Both before and after the work I've done. I start with fresh oil...run it for 20 minutes or so, put a few drops of oil on the hot maniford and it just smokes....oil from my car behavies the same way on a hot...

Interesting, but when I sent the oil to Blackstone labs, they tell me it is heavily contaminated. Lots of lead in the oil indication of bearing wear they tell me. But your right, It doesn't get very hot. Again thank you all for your advises and support and understanding of my limited...

Not sure if this helps anything, but here is a pic of the block. Should I have sprayed some kind of crack indicator in there to find a crack? http://forums.yesterdaystractors.com/photos/45990_sml.jpg
