    If the positive and negative are swapped, wouldn"t the starter turn backwards? The reason I ask is because I also have a D15 Series II, and considering the same swap.

    Hello all, I bought what I was I told a JD loader, not sure what year, 1970s maybe. It has a leaking cylinder on one side. I thought I would be smart and replace the seal in it, but I can"t figure out how to get the old seal out. I am going to try and get a picture of it on here tommorrow so...

    I have had my d15 apart a few times. Just be sure to put something STURDY underneath both halves, because when it comes apart, it will go south!!

    840 with Compression Issues

    It does sound like a bad head gasket to me too. I have seen cars do the same thing, and it be a bad spot on the head gasket between the 2 cylinders.

    Forddoc, so he needs to drop the pump, then replace the o-rings on that tube, and then put the pump back on? Sounds like a serious job! Are those just regular o-rings or high temp?

    4 Cylinder I believe. Not too sure about the trans. It is my father-in-laws tractor, he lives a few miles away.

    My father-in-law has a 1975(?) Ford 4000 that has a leak on the side of the transmission. It is on the right hand side, as you sit on the tractor,near your foot. It looks like there is a tube of some sort that goes between two plates, and it looks like that tube is leaking. Is there a pump...

    Sounds like you may be getting some air in the system from somewhere. The reservoir is full correct?
