Ford 4000 Hyd. leak?

My father-in-law has a 1975(?) Ford 4000 that has a leak on the side of the transmission. It is on the right hand side, as you sit on the tractor, near your foot. It looks like there is a tube of some sort that goes between two plates, and it looks like that tube is leaking. Is there a pump underneath one of those plates? Where can I find a exploded view of that area? Thanks alot!!

Yes the lower two of the plates is infact your pump, top one is flow control assy. there are orings on each end of that tube. Easiest to reseal after R&R the pump .

4 Cylinder I believe. Not too sure about the trans. It is my father-in-laws tractor, he lives a few miles away.

Forddoc, so he needs to drop the pump, then replace the o-rings on that tube, and then put the pump back on? Sounds like a serious job! Are those just regular o-rings or high temp?

It is a lot easier to drop pump than it is to remove flow control. There is a snap ring on the tube that you remove and then pull up into the flow control assy. Then unbolt hyd pump and remove slowly and remove small hyd line that feeds pto from pump . The orings and gasket are readily available from your local dealer. Email is open if you need more assistance. Really not that difficult of job.
