More 600 Steering
Pretty sure the splines on arms and/or sector shafts are just too worn to bind before going on too far. Soldering the joints before tightening has been suggested - easier and cheaper than replacement. -

Heh! Pushing it out sounds a lot more practical than trying to suck it out with a pump. Outside the box is good... Those bushings felt tight enough, but I really should have taken the arms off of the tractor and mounted them on the steering box on the bench. Might have noticed before putting... -

Everything is all lined up per shop manual. The shafts themselves are wobbling even when adjusted so tight the wheel binds - it just about HAS to be their bushings. I guess there's nothing for it but to pull the shafts and replace those bushings. Now to find a way to pump out all that... -

All the play seems to be limited to lateral in the arms, rather than radial. Does this mean the sector shafts/gears are too worn? Or did I screw the pooch by not replacing the bushings (which seemed snug enough on assembly)? -

Steering Shaft FUBAR?
Looks like the cup has been pushed too far down on the shaft. Rollers wound up in the bottom of the box. Is there a way to remove/replace the upper bearing, or is this shaft toast?- Shaggyman

Steering box parts for 800
Looks like I need the upper bearing (see photo), and all the o-rings, seals, etc. Is there an inclusive kit? Also, it appears the bottom of the shaft is welded, making it very difficult to remove the lower bearing> Anyone seen this before? -

FEL in pickup bed?
I know my dearborn juts over the tailgate about two inche with the bucket off. Just trying to avoid renting a trailer bigger than tmone I have.- Shaggyman

It would make sense money wise except for trying to live off of social security - if I had money I'd buy a newer tractor! ;) I put some thrust washers inboard of the Pittman arms that took out the rocking. Still mighty hard to steer, but at least the slop is only five degrees or so. I'll tough... -
