    Also I converted to 12 volt system about 2 weeks ago brand new coil points and condenser and I'm getting spark with the test light on the coil. So I think it's just something got wet thanks

    Yeah I got a lot of rain past couple days. So I'm thinking the spark is going where it shouldn't be going. Other than down the wire to the spark plug. Thanks for your info

    Is there a well-known problem when it rains hard and distributor could get wet. I put a screwdriver in a spark plug wire I got shock. Also I put my test light on the coil positive and it blinked while rotating the engine.

    Coil was knocked off

    It physically damaged the condenser where the condenser no longer worked. I don't mean burnt up like fire. It shorted out the condenser. I'm a lot older and my slang is way different. Also the coil was shorted out so I had to replace the coil with a 12 volt coil. I've never had this happen...

    The Spring that Holds the coil down came off somehow. So I was going to convert it to 12 volt anyway. And when the coil popped off it' burnt the condenser.

    Reference to 1949 Ford 8N tractor coil was knocked off. I replaced condenser and points convert the tractor to 12 volts. When the coil got knocked off it burnt out the condenser so I replaced. Ran the tractor all went to plowing snow no problems so it could use me. All is done and fix thank you

    It's a 1949 8N tractor I am currently changing the coil and positive wire that goes to the coil. I will add more when I'm done thank you so much

    Coil was knocked off

    I had a funny sound going on that sounded like a pocket of change. Then all of a sudden tractor shut off. What I went up foot to look my coil was popped off and hanging. Can anybody help or has this happened to somebody else I have no idea what would cause that.
