JD 3320 - Rattle and clacking on shutdown. It is normal?
It is the "PowerReverser" so as I understand it, it is kind of a hydro, but with gears. I agree that it sounds like something spinning and flopping around once the main shaft comes to a stop. I haven't actually tried to look because I never have anybody to help me by shutting off the tractor...- ShawnR

I have a 3320 tractor and it starts & runs just fine, but when you shut it off it makes a significant rattle / clanking sound just as the engine stops rotating. It sounds to me like it is right under your feet behind the engine, but I'm not positive on that. Give it a listen and see if it is...- ShawnR

I have a Ford 711 loader that is for sale. I was going to sell it with the tractor (Ford 3000), but after replacing the hydraulic pump with a 3600 one, the loader won't fit anymore. It did not leak and the hydraulic hose is new. Fits three cylinder 2000/3000s. Will only work on 2000s through...$200.00- ShawnR

Barn roof repair / replacement opnions.
This is exactly the current plan. If I can get it to last another 50 years, I'll be dead and it is somebody else's problem. I would like to concrete the floor, but I'm not doing that until the roof isn't leaking. It is on "the list" for this summer so we will see how it goes. I'm still hoping...- ShawnR

Barn roof repair / replacement opnions.
I'm in N. Central (Between Cols & Mansfield). The existing metal isn't really in bad shape, it just isn't "tight" to the roof anymore so I'm thinking that it may be able to be re-attached with screws. Someone else suggested butyl tape on the seams and that is brilliant. Some dumb kid grew up...- ShawnR

I'm not exactly sure how to describe this type of barn roof so I'm open to suggestions there. I've always called it a "round roof", but that isn't exactly accurate. Anyway, there are multiple leaks and I'm trying to get things sealed up. It is covered with corrugated steel that isn't "tight"...- ShawnR

Ford 3000 with Holley carb - rebuild or ebay replacement?
The new "ebay carb" is installed and the tractor does start significantly easier that it used to with the Holley. It still doesn't fire up instantly like the old Farmall does, but I'll blame that on the low compression numbers. I've pretty much decided to pull the head and give the cylinders a... -

Ford 3000 with Holley carb - rebuild or ebay replacement?
That was the old Holley that was caked in crud. Drop it in the bucket for a few days to remove layer of crud first, then take it apart and clean it right. Kind of like hosing off the engine before taking it apart to really clean it. -

I got the new eBay carb and it actually appears to be pretty nicely made. The fuel inlet fitting is something weird that I don't have, so I just ran a 1/4 npt tap down it and used the fitting from the old Holley. The only other thing of note is that the chole return spring is extremely strong... -

I did buy a service manual, then thoroughly cleaned the carb and set the floats to spec (61/64) since they were WAY low. Put everything back together together and now it won't start at all. It will fire with starting fluid, but won't stay running. I'll drop the floats back down and see if I can...
