    HG motor mounts

I had the same problem. I purchased 2 inch square jewelry blocks from Amazon. They are hard black rubber. I bored a hole in the center and then turned them round on the lathe. I finished by boring the center hole to the correct size. A little labor and about 20 bucks later, they work good.

I have a JD 420 Industrial that someone kindly removed the ID from years ago. I have heard that the difference between a 1956 and a 1957 was the number of bolts holding the starter on, but I have not been able to confirm. While cleaning the front rims, I saw a stamping that was 57 but that could...

    studebakers ?

I had heard a story years ago that Studebaker made wagons in Indiana as someone else had mentioned. One of the sons of Studebaker went west to search for gold but was unsuccessful. Because of his knowledge of wagon making, he started making wheelbarrels for the miners and amassed a fortune. Upon...

    Tractor Show Idaho Panhandle

Every July 4th in Bonners Ferry, they have a parade that allows anyone and anything to enter. If it is not cancelled this year, I will show off one of my rusted old tractors. Sandpoint also has a 4th parade but not sure about entries. My 57 John Deere 420 industrial will make those mustangs and...

    Today's funny

My son-in-law had a small roof leak so I got him a can of Henry's. I told him that it would get all over him by just looking at the can. He found out the hard way and was still scrubbing it off himself a week later.

    Looking for new tires

I recently bought the same front tires for my JD 420, 6 X 16. I got them from Amazon believe it or not. The tires were Carlisle and they were $64.00 with free shipping. As far as the rear, I will admit to being a snob. I will not put imported tires on my American tractor.

After 2 stupid low water washers that barely got my clothes wet, we bought a Speed Queen. My wife will fist fight you, if you ever tried to take it away.

    851 radius arms placement

Greetings to all, on the 1958 851 powermaster, there are 2 positions available for the front axle radius arms. I have looked throughout the owners manual and I cannot find where it mentions any advantage to placing the radius arms closer to centerline or outboard closer to the wheel. Is there...

    ford battery box

I recently picked up a 1958 Ford 851 diesel. The battery box is a horrible looking homeade thing. I would like to install an original style but I can only find the 6 volt one for the gas engines. Any idea where to get a new 12 volt style battery box?

    851 diesel powermaster

I recently found one of those barn finds that you only hear about. It is a 1958 851 powermaster that was driven into the barn in 1987 and hasn't moved. It was a working tractor and therefore not perfectly preserved but the price was right..free. I am having some difficulty with the rear tires...

wide front axle problem on farmall C

Thanks for your response. I am already trying to get solvent where I can put it. The next step will be judicious application of heat. I would probably just leave it alone, but some time ago, someone extended one side and not the other and it looks funny.

wide front axle problem on farmall C

Greetings to all. I'm new to the site and just as new to the classic tractor thing. I recently acquired a 1950 Farmall C and am in the process of trying to return it to it's former glory. The steering arm had been broken and welded so many times, I have opted to replace with a newly fabbed one...
