    460 has something stuck.

Thanks Jim. I did not understand how the system works. I guess I better get a shop book on this system. J

    460 has something stuck.

I am a little confused at why a stuck clutch plate would feel like it is shifting into a lower range when clutch is depressed. Thanks for all of the advice so far. J

    460 has something stuck.

My 460 gas got water in the clutch housing during the recent flooding. I drained and replaced all fluids and filters afterwards. After setting a week it acts like the clutch is stuck to flywheel but upon further messing with it I believe it is in the torq amp. I started it in gear and drove...

    not a tractor but....

There was one in our area when I was young. It was not a Hemi but had one of Mopars big block "hot" engines. I have never been a Mopar fan but nowadays appreciate most all old iron. I dont remember any numbers but seen a couple SB for sale for BIG money. J

    Trailer tires

My 6 lug trailer has the same bolt pattern as the Chevy truck but the center is larger. I took the cutting torch and very carefully opened the center up. There was a ridge that was easy to follow with the torch so it went well. I have 15" on front axle and 14.5" on the rear. I had a set of Rally...

    Cereal rye

Rye stools really well if I remember correctly. We used to grow it and sell the seed. It will really mellow the ground too! Grandad said in the "old" days they would turn the cows into the field and let them graze the early growth. After taking them out the rye grew up and headed out. I...

    Wood Chips

I dump stuff like that into the animal pens so it gets mixed into the manure. It will break down faster when soaked with manure "tea". Yes it does eat nitrogen and adds some acids to the soil. Having plant matter in your soil holds water and will carry you through a dry spell later. J

I dont understand why you could not find the planted seed. We always dug with fingers running with the row and found seed easily. J

    Mower Blade Sharpening!

That is not my experience. I have had mowers that vibrate. I sharpened and balanced the blades then they spun smoothly. The ends of the blades are always clean and polished from use. They do get some buildup closer to the center but it seems even enough and close enough to center to make little...

    Pigs per acre

I have an old school fence charger that has a weed burn cycle. If a weed touches the wire a hot cycle kicks in and an arc occurs at the point of contact burning the weed off. It kicked in one time and never kicked out. If you touch the wire you gain a whole new definition of electric shock! We...

follow up on PTO spline repair

I am impressed! I don't have that kind of patience anymore. I have a buddy that drag races a 61 Falcon with a Boss 302 in it and a top loader 4 speed. He cut every other tooth off of the synchronizers on 2nd and 3rd to make a "crash box". He periodically tigs up the male pieces and hand...

    Husqvarna Riding Mower Battery?

It sounds like the grindy noise is the solenoid. A good battery and solenoid with bad starter usually gives a strong clunk. Try cleaning all the terminals. Do both battery ends and then the opposite ends of the cables if necessary. Then jump if you get nothing or the same. Even if battery is...
