    I am not familiar with this MM "U". The tractor jumps when engaging the clutch,(lever just about all the way forward) Hoping one of you MM boys could give me some advice on how to adjust the clutch. It is a "U" wide front, that's all I know. I also know they were very good tractors.

    Here is how I did the timing.. When I feel pressure coming out out of the spark plug hole on the fly wheel side....     I have installed a hydraulic pump on my 1949 JD "D". Now that the pump is on.... I am having trouble timing it. I did the installing the mag procedure outlined on page 33 of the owners manual with no luck........... What I was wondering can the pump be installed in the wrong position? Should OR...

    Re installing the hydraulic pump. What is the best way to keep the key in place when bolting the pump to the tractor drive. The key does not want to stay in place. The key goes in the slot that the mag would go into if there was no pump. Hope I explained this well enough to understand my problem.

    John Deere "D" air breather oil cup has no marker as to how full to fill it. I am guessing with in an inch from the top. Is that too full ? Thanks in advance to anyone with a comment.

    Thanks for the reply, I think you are right, would also have to remove the shaft the rod attaches to which turns it on & off . LOOKs like a close fit to the bottom of the tank when I go to spin it off.

    Did the Pony ever have a factory hydraulic? I have one with a hydraulic mounted beside the seat with a chain drive from the pto. Would that be factory. In some info it states hydraulic as an option. Thanks to anyone who replies
