Ford 600 sputters under load going uphill

Fuel problem... Float set too high or too low so that the up hill starves for fuel?? or does it start blowing black smoke due to flooding or too much fuel. Also low fuel in tank?

TW5 steering pump, gets real hot.

I set the canister to where the vent is ON TOP... And the temp will be a minimum of 155F... so 200 is still ok for hydraulic oil. Whats the outside temps when you take your reading and how long did you run it? The larger canister is to allow more capacity to help cooling.. but newer tractors...

    Ford 3000 hard start

You might have the dreaded black/grey algae growing in your fuel, in which case it will gum up the works. You will to completely flush the tank with a high pressure hose, then dry it, Add back fuel and a diesel "biocide" to kill off this alien growth from mars. You also will have to change...

ford 5000 clutch issue and PTO question

Very common for the clutch plate to "stick" especially when you first start it for the day, after setting a while. Sometimes due to moisture and rain, sometimes due to oil... Some even block/tie down the clutch pedal when not in use, to prevent this from happening. Most people just live with...

Looking at a Ford 3910, need some advice please…

Backing UP a hill is considered safest on super steep, but difficult/impossible with a ground mounted shredder..... BUT never back down a hill, as if you hit the brakes too quickly on too steep, the tractor could "rear" up in the front. Having a ROPS system and seat belts are a must.

Looking at a Ford 3910, need some advice please…

When you break loose traction,, it does not make a difference if its 2wd or 4wd,,, a sliding tractor is a problem. TO state a 4wd would be safer would be a mistake. ESPECIALLY since most 4wd tractor have taller tires on the front end with a higher CG than a 2wd with 16 inch rims on the front...

    Power steering cylinder

180 to 220 are normal for hydraulic fluids being pumped and pressurized,, if you run the system long enough.. It actually helps boil off moisture. Anything above 250 and you might move to synthetic or add a cooler.

Looking at a Ford 3910, need some advice please…

Ford used to sell LCG 4000 tractor for mowing the sides of hyway embankments and they DID have dual wheels on the just for this reason. Duals can be used for flotation or for widening the wheel base. Wider wheel base "Lowers the Center of Gravity" significantly. and LCG means it does not...

Ford 640 problems shifting and engaging PTO

Non live pto means that the pto is directly connected to the rear end and the spinning or non spinning of the pto is in direct conflict with what the rear end is doing,, ie one is turning and one is still or the mower is spinning making hard to put into gear.

    PTO shaft adapter assistance

Your probably not going to find an adapter for anywhere near the price of a total pto shaft new or changing the yoke out. Look at a new pto shaft in total to set your budget. $85.70 delivered as I have prime. But usually cost more at $185...give or take...

Looking at a Ford 3910, need some advice please…

Priced high.. Dual probably added to give stabillity with the loader up high in the air...as if they were stacking or setting rafters or hay very high??? That tractor with 3000 hours would sell for 9 to 13k with a loader, tops around here. Condition is everything. So you can buy a worn out...

    Followup question about alternator change

Run the old 1/2 inch if it will still adjust properly and not slip. When it finally goes, switch to the 3/8s but as it will sit lower in the groove it will need to be slightly shorter. And because tractors only run 2200 rpms and cars run 5000 rpms, you will not over speed the alternator.

    Florida Solar panels questions

Here... if you produce more than you use, the power company will only pay you WHOLESALE prices for the power.. For instance you the customer pay 12cent a kilowatt, but you sale excess back at 3 cents a kilowatt. SO... there is no way you can make money on a 30k to 60k investment at 3 cents a...
