    Ford 6610 starter negative connection

My starter stopped working and after a lot of faffing about and expense, I finally just bought another one. Checked all the part numbers and pictures on the ebay listing, but the one they sent doesn't have a dedicated M8 terminal on the end for the negative cable. It has 2 M5 threaded holes, or...

Power steering gasket blew again (Ford 6610)

Yes, it is 4WD with a FEL. Presuming the relief valve is the one on the side of the pump, that was quite free. Don't think a conversion would be cost effective. It's odd how it happened now when I've had the tractor for several years

Power steering gasket blew again (Ford 6610)

Ah, where would I find this and are they serviceable?

Power steering gasket blew again (Ford 6610)

My power steering had been going OK for a while after it blew the gasket last time. I replaced the gasket but when I tried tightening the bolts to the specified torque (40ftlb/55nm - from the repair manual, p.1232) one of them sheared so I didn't tighten the rest that tight. Is this why my...

Rocker cover gasket - should I use sealant on it? Ford 6610 power steering

My power steering always worked but used to lose fluid. I noticed quite a bit seeping out around the rocker cover gasket and then the other day, it started pouring out. I discovered the gasket was shredded. I fitted a temporary gasket, which worked for a bit but has now let all the oil out...

Ford 6610 live feed to ignition failed

Thanks. Not going to be easy to inspect, I have a FEL and the frame blocks a lot of access but I'll see if I can find anything

Ford 6610 live feed to ignition failed

Been having a mare with my tractor. Power steering stopped working and I'm hoping the shredded gasket was the culprit. Temporary cork/Hylomar gasket holding up OK but then it wouldn't start. Eventually, it did get going, not sure how, and was up in the field when it just completely cut out...

Fit electric fuel shut off solenoid (6610)

Before I install it - is the plunger supposed to be able to come out of the solenoid (as in detach)? It was delivered with a screw cap, which I presume was there as the plunger isn't directly attached. Also, when I remove the plug on the top of the fuel pump, is fuel going to rush out and will...

Fit electric fuel shut off solenoid (6610)

I know but it sounds like it's screaming... not a quiet engine!

Fit electric fuel shut off solenoid (6610)

Fair point but it's the only safety feature to my branch logger

Fit electric fuel shut off solenoid (6610)

It allows someone to shut the tractor off in case of emergency. Not sure how quickly it will stop, especially as to run the PTO at 540rpm, the engine needs to turn at 1900rpm (which sounds awfully fast)

Fit electric fuel shut off solenoid (6610)

Begs the question why they weren't fitted as standard? The manual one is not easy to operate unless you're sat in the cab

Fit electric fuel shut off solenoid (6610)

Ah, I'd got my pipes mixed up - thought that was the return. No harm done but glad I checked. Solenoid on order!

Fit electric fuel shut off solenoid (6610)

Thanks, thought that was where he meant but the inlet fitting is at the other end, which confused me

Any chance of an arrow indicating where you mean?
