    Ive got a ford 555 backhoe which has a broken coupler plate between the flywheel and torque converter. I split the backhoe and am ready to put it back together but the manual says to use an alignment tool to bolt up the coupler/flex plate to the torque converter instead of just aligning it...

    So this backhoe is not moving and there is a noise like a whirring grinding coming from the torque converter area. The noise is intermittent and something is clearly broken but im wonding what it could be? Just a bad torque converter? bad flywheel? broken input shaft? broken converter bolts...

    Yea i let it drain overnight last night and i just filled it with diesel to flush it out. Going to run it with the wheel off the ground for about a minute then let it drain and refill with 80w-90

    Because the oil was contaminated with water should i flush this transmission with kerosene? i have heard of a few people doing this. wondering if this might do more harm than good.

    What epoxy primer did you guys us? Was that 88 a frame off type resto or was the motor left in for paint? Basically asking how much prep you did.
