hey fellas i'm thinkin about restoring one of our olivers this winter and looking for some tips and opinions on what brand of paint to use, we used van sickle on the 70 we restored a few years back and i was not impressed. Also should a guy use hardner in it and or any other products? Thanks for the help.

My brother used Dupont Centari with hardener on my 1600 when he painted it for me. Turned out really nice.

I know a lot of guys use PPG too.

I use MAE epoxy with catalyst, MAE paint with reducer and hardner. I have lots of complements on my paint jobs. Now listen up. If you use any type of paint that uses hardner, BUY A SUPPLIED AIR PUMP WITH A MASK! Don't take chances with your lungs.

I painted my Super 88 with PPG urethane over epoxy.

Really good lookin olie! Do you take it to shows or plow days? My 88 has ppg urethane on it, but previous owner did poor prep work.

Thanks. I've taken it to a couple of shows. Also use it around here some. It came from my Dads cousins farm.

What epoxy primer did you guys us?

Was that 88 a frame off type resto or was the motor left in for paint? Basically asking how much prep you did.
