    4 blade fans for 9N

Thanks Kirk, I suspected the smaller hub was used on the earliest tractors, but could not think why. Your answer makes sense-I'm not using the tube, but I will use the shorter hub. So many interesting features on this tractor that apparently were modified pretty quickly. I had a 39 that I...

    4 blade fans for 9N

I have two four blade pusher fans and they both appear to be for 9N's. However one has a mounting hub that is 1-15/16" from the fan surface to the mounting surface that mates with the water pump. The second has a hub dimension that is 2-3/4" from fan surface to the water pump mounting surface...

    Aftermarket grills

How do TO30 aftermarket grills compare to originals, it is hard to find an original that isn't rotted out at the base, but I don't trust the aftermarket stuff, but have not seen one physically either. Any comments will be appreciated.

    Oil Pressure After Rebuild Issue

Just a further note in checking the oil pump. You could just drop the pan with the engine in the tractor. Support the transmission with a good stand, Undo the front axle support bolts from the pan and slide the support slightly forward (just to clear the pan so it will drop. Remove the bolts...

    Oil Pressure After Rebuild Issue

As TOH noted I found my replacement oil pump gears to be 0.007" shorter than the originals after experiencing the same issues you appear to be having. I put the original gears back in and got a thinner gasket than was in the kit (CNH had the thinner gasket) and this solved the problem...

OT - Tractor Repair & Copyright Law

Not so much copyright law, but abuses and court interpretations. Greed on the part of manufacturers plays a part, but that is the American way of business-make a buck wherever you can and software protections are a profit center in the digital age. Question is if John Deer prosecutes and it...

    rare 9n on eBay

As in all things the item is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. It depends on how many 1940 9N's are out there for sale and how bad someone wants one-timing and luck are a big factor. This one is a reasonable candidate for restoration, but it probably would not be significantly less...

    2N

Well that gives me an idea what to ask for my 39 9N as it is every bit as good as any external_link restoration and probably better. Paint wise a good Dupont or PPG single stage urethane matches this with no clear coat-just quality color sanding and buffing. I charge around $12K for that level...

    8N hub.. Good or not?

If it fits on too far it will grind away at the bearing retainer. Mine would snug up and seemed fine, but one had worn against the retainer so I replaced them both with new. Also new hubs will seal properly in the axle seals.

    te 20 thermostat

That's the same one used for my 8N and it is a bit difficult to get in because of that raised portion, but warming up the hose makes it easier to install. That lip keeps it from moving with water pressure. The earlier thermostats were held in place with an exterior band that was included on...

    TO 20 horizontal exhaust?

Hi Tom, Have not gotten to much further, we got it started after several years of sitting, put some thin oil in the cylinders for a couple of weeks then pressurized the system with fresh oil introduced through the oil gage tube, put a battery on it, cleaned the carb, new coil and points and a...

    TO 20 horizontal exhaust?

The NBoard has some TO20 and 30 pdf operators manuals in their manuals section and other Fergie stuff but no parts manuals. Prefer pdf of original manuals to the present store bought stuff as those are very poor copies (I bought a service manual and the pictures are terrible). I'm beginning...
